About Us
The INdiana Sustainability Alliance unites business leaders, policy makers, investors, educators and scientists to further the efforts of energy and environmental sustainability in the state of Indiana. Through collaboration, best practices and knowledge sharing Indiana can become a national leader in sustainability promoting long-term economic growth in the fields of sustainable development, green building, renewable energy, water management, and clean technology.

INSA aims to recognize and support these Indiana companies. By bringing together all those working to create a sustainable Indiana, we are able to align common goals and objectives, which leads to a collaborative environment where resources, information and assets can be shared for the benefit of all. Strategies for sustainability and clean energy are now within reach.

Through a series of educational and networking events featuring industry experts, webinars and our collaborative, members-only web platform, the INSA membership will gain access to experience, knowledge, businesses and technologies to support and expand individual sustainability programs.

Additionally, as the efforts of INSA grow, we will launch strategies and initiatives to develop and attract new businesses to the state furthering the impact Indiana has not only on its own sustainability efforts but also the nation’s.

INSA began in 2007 with the help from its founding partners – Indiana Chapter of the United States Green Building Council, Indiana Department of Energy and Defense Development, Ball State University - College of Architecture Planning Indianapolis Center, Richard G. Lugar Center for Renewable Energy, EnerTech Capital, Knoefler Enterprises Inc. and Ice Miller LLP.

Since that time, membership has grown to several hundreds of individuals and businesses. But as INSA begins its next phase to become the leading center on sustainability of Indiana, the impact the group has will grow exponentially.

Through the collaboration of the state’s key stakeholders, INSA will not only provide the power behind the sustainable movement in Indiana, but also serve as a driver to help facilitate the growth of green collar jobs in Indiana.
