In the past, INSA has held networking and programming events that have attracted over 250 total attendees. These events include:

  • Dr. Michael Walsh, Executive Vice President of the Chicago Climate Exchange ("CCX") on the carbon credit trade market and the operation of CCX. CCX is the world’s first and North America’s only voluntary, legally binding greenhouse gas reduction and trading program for all six greenhouse gases with offset projects worldwide.

  • Jeremy Harris, former Mayor of Honolulu, gave an introduction to sustainability and spoke about the roles our cities and government play in addressing these issues. Mayor Harris served for more than ten years as the Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu, Hawaii, the 12th largest city in the United States. He retired from politics in January of 2005. Prior to becoming Mayor, Harris was Honolulu’s longest serving Managing Director, a position he held for nine years. Under Mayor Harris’ leadership Honolulu achieved worldwide recognition. During his three terms as Mayor, Honolulu was recognized as one of the best managed cities in the United States.

  • Mike Molnar, Director - Environmental Policy and Sustainable Development of Cummins, Inc., spoke about Cummins' sustainability plan and what it has meant for its business. Cummins, Inc. is a member of the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index, which represents the top 10 percent of the world's largest 2,500 companies in corporate sustainability.

  • a panel discussion regarding the challenges and opportunities provided by LEED certified buildings and emerging green businesses.  The panel discussion was hosted by Vectren Corporation and was moderated by Jeffrey W. Whiteside, Vice President, External Affairs and Sustainability. The panel featured Bill Brown, Associate Partner, Browning Day Mullins Dierdorf, Brad Morton, Owner, Morton Energy, Spencer Valentine, Business Developer, Williams Creek Consulting, Inc., and Paul Jones, Attorney, Ice Miller LLP
